Sinking in My Rain

I'm sinking in the neverending rain,

Endless, heavy rain of my own making,

Hours and hours of unbearable strain,

There's silence but my ears keep ringing.

As the street floods with heaven's tears,

My heart feels sodden down,

When the sun melts' strangers' fears,

The roots of my soul find ground.

When the final drops cascade down the leaves,

And the last muddy footprint is left behind,

I feel hope and begin to believe,

I don't need to surrender to my mind.

  1. I love the optimistic ending, and I love how you've expressed so many emotions through the rain metaphor! Amazing job Taara!
